Thought I'd start here for some help. Like most projects on a
boat it seemed like a simple plan until we actually got into it. My wife wanted to remove the two heads from our 1981
Gulfstar 44 and put in a
single composting
head. How hard could that be? Then I got the bright idea that we could remove all of the former hose lines and thru hulls then rehab the
holding tank to make a spare 20 gallon
fuel tank for the
diesel heater. Most of the hoses came out without too much of a problem, but there are two runs of hoses that come into the
holding tank from underneath and behind the sole and other joinerwork. The boatyard suggests cutting access holes, but without knowing where they really run we're cutting in the dark. Looks like the
builder laid out the
electrical conduits and
plumbing then built the
boat over it all. Does anyone have any suggestions or know someone with a GS44 who might know how these
boats were put together?
Thanks,
J.M.
