Fuses on Adler Barbour Refrigerator?

I did a real dumb thing! I had a direct wire from batteries to unit. I had the wires crossed while hooking up the refer (yes, + to - and vice versa). As a result it shorted out and won’t work. Before I purchase another compressor, I'd like to know if anyone out there can answer the question above?

I will most probably have to remove the unit to see if there are any fuses and/or if it can be repaired. Is it possible to reconnect and add more 134a? Can I do myself with out any special equipment?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

There should be 2 ATC fuses right next to where the wires connect to the unit. Check these. worst case the control board is fried but i would be surprised if anything happened to the compressor. Check the fuses first.

Good luck

RTFM!

"Correct polarity is critical. If you connect in reverse, the system
will not operate. Should this occur, correct your wiring. The
system will automatically re-start.

NOTE: The main fuse on the CM or SCM junction box is 15

amp."

The A-B units are Reverse-Polarity protected, so whilst it will not operate with R-P, no damage will have occured. Simply reconnect properly.

Most Adler Barbour units, built after about 1995, had Danfoss BD 50 compressors with a troubleshooting LED that flashes a signal (see Error Codes on page 26).

All Adler Barbour units with Danfoss compressor are protected from reverse polarity by a fuse on unit. Older models have a 15 amp fuse under a plastic cover on outside on or bottom of Danfoss electronic module. Newer Adler Barbour modules with BD50 compressors have the 15 amp fuse located on face of stainless steel relay box.

All other brands using the BD35 and BD50 compressors are not fused as far as I know.
