Fridge, A/C service and repair books - any recommendations?

Intent upon achieving Nirvana through the the path of maintenance self-sufficiency, I urgently need to learn how to address refrigeration issues.

Can anyone recommend a book or three which details troubleshooting and maintenance practice for marine fridge, freezer and air-conditioning systems?

What tools will I need besides a manifold gauge set and a bottle of R22?

Well, I don't know that Richard can help you with the Nirvana business, but he sure knows a lot about marine refrigeration!

His book is excellent and on my boat, right next to Calder's.

Now lets see if I can put theory into practice, or will I just end up fattening the bank accounts of the local HVAC guys..ahh well... only one way to find out!
