This weekend, we're going to be pulling out a 2008-era Aquamatic
watermaker that came with our
boat in unknown condition and has a defective touchscreen (so we can't test it), replacing it with a new Spectra unit. We were told it had been pickled when we bought the
boat, and just never touched it doing the great loop this year.
Rather than just throw this unit out, anyone want to take it and try to rehab it? The mechanicals seem to
work (if you
plug it in, it does a fresh
water flush, etc.) It probably works with a new
screen, though no idea about the shape of the membrane or anything else that might be wrong. But free to anyone who wants to pick it up, or we'll throw it in the dumpster next weekend.
We are just off
Miami anchored in Key Biscayne, and will be between here and Ft Lauderdale for the next week, likely in Las Olas for Wed->Saturday early AM next week before crossing to the
Bahamas for a week or so. Must come to us for pickup, of course.
