EcoTech watermaker question

I have an EcoTech which has a small leak around the white nylon? bolt in the middle of the end that does not produce clean water. Does anyone know what it is for, what happens if I undo it etc. Should it be stiff?

I tried to insert a Google Photos image link but does not seem to work.

(I had another larger leak on the high pressure brine pipe, fixed with new o-rings and a little epoxy.)

Re: EcoTech watermaker question

Sure, that is the product water outlet port. They're always in the middle of the end cap like yours. There is one just like it on the other end that has the product water directed to your tank. You could swap out either end and it still works. Your "Hex plug" looks like nylon from the pic. Just remove it, re-Teflon tape it, and re-install. That should be all it takes.

Re: EcoTech watermaker question

So, just low pressure. Did not think there would be product water both ends.

Thank you very much.
