Do watermakers go on sale during boat shows?

I want to purchase a Spectra Catalina 340 Z but they are so damn expensive.

It would be nice to get some type of discount on this sucker.

Any tips?

Spectra watermakers are awesome, we have two 380c manual units that produce a total of 34 gallons per hour. Worth every penny and Tellie is a BIG help.

Tellie helped me find a dead one. I had the Clark pump rebuilt at Spectra and then I updated the boost pump system and made it modular. Now that Katadyn took them over, I noticed prices have increased and a few days ago went in to Spectra to grab a few items and was told I had to go through one of their distributors instead. Typical action as companies grow I guess.

We own a Spectra Newport 400 and loved it when we were cruising... We highly recommend Spectra and would not buy any other brand.

My wife worked for a Chandlery in San Francisco that was also a retailer for Spectra.

Each year at the Oakland Boat Show they gave Boat Show discounts (15-20% depending on the model)... I would imagine most Chanderly's do the same at other baot shows.

This is exactly the information I am looking for.

A 20% discount would be over $2,000!!!

Hi Tom...The dead one I bought was the older Newport with the Procon boost pump. Is yours the same?

+1 for a 15% discount. I just bought a Spectra Ventura 150 at the Newport, RI boat show and got 15% off list price. Everything is 'on sale' at the boat show!

A basic Spectra 150 can be had for about half that.

But some can cost 100K plus. It depends on what you want.
