Do you still have any of these setups? I'm trying to convert a 120 volt Magic Chef over to 12v/120v to replace my Norcold DE0061.

Thanks in advance. Chris

Re: Convert 110v refrigerator to 12v?

Hey just wondering if you know how efficient the units run?
Do you have to install a starting device along with the compressor? I would assume
Yes. I have a chest style frige/freezer built in my boat. It has bd35 compressor and Draws very little power. I know I can build one that would work great, but if the little converted refrigerators work good it would be a lot less hastle.

Re: Convert 110v refrigerator to 12v?

To add to this interesting thread. We have a 120VAC U-Line Ice-maker. Need it for charter business. It consumes 25A most of the day, running off a Magnum 3000 Hybrid Inverter.

What chance of leaving the mechanics on the 120VAC supply and replacing the compressor with suitable 12VDC?
