Cat litter as head ?
I have been thinking about using a cat litter box and the clumping type litter as my head...Has anyone tried this ?

Wouldn't it go everywhere when you scratch to cover it up?

Do you kick your shoes off before you get in the box or just leave them on? I can see pros and cons with both options.

Might have to wrap some rope round the mast for a scratching post, don't use nylon it snags!

Can using a litter box give you hair balls? I would hate that.

Knot_Sea, it may cause problems if you were not introduced to a litter box at a young age. Apparently if as a youngster you didn't break yourself of the habit of spraying, you may continue this behaviour for the rest of your life and the litter box will have limited uses. Of course, a failsafe strategy for this problem is to get neutered. Is this an option?

Re: Cat litter as head ?
actually, as hilarious as the responses so far are, :-) I think it's not a completely crazy idea..?
It wont smell, and lumps can be thrown overboard an hour or so later. i guess the biggest problem is the size of a man's bladder, and the size of the resulting lump to scoop out?
I wonder how much the damp environment might affect the litter too?

Re: Cat litter as head ?
So would your litter box be considered a type I MSD?
A Jabsco head can be had for about $160 and a small tank needn't cost more than about $60. A three-way valve and some hose and clamps, and a deck pump-out fitting, maybe a through-hull for when you are offshore and can pump directly overboard, and you are good to go. Around $300 all together. And you don't have to keep buying kitty litter.

In that case why do you need the litter box? Just use the old bucket and chuck it.

Change litter often or you will be prone to infections in your claws. Or maybe you are declawed already? Lol
I have a long thread on this web site about wag bags. As a media, I use puppy pee pads or diapers in the wag bag to hold on to waste.
Invented my own controversial container to manage the new as well as soiled wag bags.
The puppy pee pads are handy as we have two Maltese trained to use them.

Which boat is a chick magnet?
Certainly not the one with litter infused crags, most women i've known are a little sensitive to ablutions particularly in small boats ie under 150feet.

Nothing more from the OP? Either he's ignoring our sage advice or we have a troll.

Re: Cat litter as head ?
I thought the OP was the funniest short post I had read in a while. But then I got to the below response.
