Building a fridge - help

I will start building my freezer/fridge. Will build it in Nida core and urthane foam bords (insulation).

It will be top loaded. Evaporator will be placed in the freezer compartment and a hole thru to the fridge. Shall I use a fan in the fridge?

Is it possible to paint directly on to the urthane insulation? Epoxy? Polyester?

Any good advice?

Re: Building a fridge - help

Built a fridge last winter and installed it on the boat and used it for a couple months before returning home. Some of the build might help you and it is here.....

Endeavour 37 Interion Mods Index

On one of the build pages....

...you can see how the walls are covered. It wasn't hard or expensive.

On the fan are you talking about a spill-over fan or just a fan inside the fridge to circulate the air there? If it is the latter I think I'll try one, but haven't yet as we like the way the fridge is working now.

Good luck and we really like ours,

Sum

Andreas, but In general, I bought my stuff from rparts.com. I quickly checked out thier pricing and it seems prices have nearly doubled sine 2008.

Andreas, anything you need to know about building a marine fridge starts on this website Kollmann Marine. You can post questions right to Richard if you can't find the answer you are looking for. I rebuilt ours about a year ago and am very pleased with the results. Jim
