Bronze Pipe Nipples

I know this has come up before and no one has been able to find a source of real bronze, not red brass, pipe nipples.

I stumbled across a Groco catalog and lo and behold they DO make a bronze pipe nipple!!

Groco Bronze PN Series Pipe nipples (LINK)

They also make elbows but it's hard to find in their catalog.

They have seacock/thru-hull specialists available for phone chats. They are very helpful.

John,

Hamilton DOES NOT currently stock bronze nipples only red brass. I asked Ted to bring in some of the Groco PN bronze nipples. We'll see what happens..

Wouldn't be just cheaper to go to your local marine supplier. Here in Seattle I get them at Fisheries Supply or Ballard Hardware. The run around time/research cost money too, unless you're buying 100 or more.

Put a brass pipe nipple in a bronze elbow, soak in saltwater-- watch brass dissolve!

Loads of fun when connected to a through hull fitting!

There aren't a lot of times that you NEED a bronze pipe nipple, but sometimes they really, really are handy!
