Best way to test Jabsco Hydro Air Bilge Switch

I have 6 of these on board and the survey said they non-functional. What is the best way to test these pressure switches?

Thanks

Best way to test Jabsco Hydro Air Bilge Switch

zerompg,

Jabsco Hydro Air Bilge Switch

Just add water to your bilge until it rises 2-1/4" inches up the plastic bell.

Diaphragm switch in the switch unit activated by increase of air pressure in air bell and tube when water level rises in bilge.

Automatically activates bilge pump when water level reached 2-1/4".

Proven to be ultra-reliable and safe with no submerged electrical components

Interesting question. No easy way that I can think of other than disconnecting the tube from the bell and blowing into it. Other than that, I guess you'd have to flood your bilge.

How do you like those switches?

I don't like them if they dont work So I'm going to try to unscrew the bottom bell and put it in a bowl of water. See if I can get it to work, then try to seal the tubing joins better and try again. Last resort I guess I'll replace them.

Fill a glass with water and put on the end.

Be sure your bilge is empty and turn on switch. Then add water. I believe that sets it. If you add water and then turn it on it will not work.

Mine has been flawless for a year or two. I have a tiny bit of residue water in my sump, I jiggle it and it starts up for 20 seconds or so.
