Re: Any Reviews on Frigibar Refrigeration ?

LectricIceman 12 volt icebox conversion units use the same components as all the other brands and were designed for marine applications not for the RV industry. The designer of these units believed so much in their reliability twenty years ago he offered life time warrantee policy for $25. I have never heard of any complaints from boaters about these units and they did live up to their $25 warrantee for two boaters I heard from replacing modules after more than ten years use.

If the application is to be in a tropical climate with a BD35 compressor the box to be converted for freezer must be 3 cu ft or less. If it is to be refrigerator only then box size is limited to 5 cu ft or less. These application limits I apply to all manufacturers systems using Danfoss BD35 compressors. If system purchased is equipped with a BD50 compressor box size can be increased by 30%. Like most boat refrigeration companies Frigibar lists their unit will work in boxes as large as 12 cu ft this is correct if boat is in a cold climate or if only a drink cooler is required.

Bad Experience with service and warranty from Frigibar. For details, see my post at Leaks, 3 blinks, and now blockage? Is this refrigerator a lemon?

Installed our unit in 1987 and it is still running strong.
