An idea fro partial refrigeration

Where I live the waters are always cold and admittedly for refrigeration. I've always just used a cooler with ice or hung a mesh bag over the side in the water. But someone gave me an affordable idea and I was curious if you think it might work. By using a water cooled CPU unit (Like this) and a small pump (like this) to draw fresh cold water through it to partially cool down the ice box.
