Alcohol Stove Question?

So, I have purchased a Catalina C30 which has an alcohol stove. It is a pressurized system. Just making sure I am using the proper fuel.
Will Denatured Alcohol work on a pressurized alcohol system?
Everything I read says it is good for non pressurized, but nothing on pressurized.

Yup, will work just fine. I had a pressurized alcohol stove in my previous boat, and used it for years. I mostly used less-refined methyl hydrate, bought from the hardware store. Worked fine, but perhaps a bit more odour.

P.S. no doubt you’re about to get a bunch of folks saying pressure stoves are bad, scary, or just plain wrong. Don’t listen to them. If your stove is in good shape, and you learn how to use it, it will do just fine.

I prefer a propane stove, and the non-pressure alcohol stoves are great, but there’s nothing wrong with a pressure stove — as long as you learn how to use it safely.

Denatured alcohol is the correct fuel for your stove .
Not knowing the brand this is just as a general on operation of the unit

Do a google search for your make and model for the specific information for your stove.

You may find one brand of alcohol works better than another. If the stove kind of spits a little try another brand of alcohol. I think some brands have a little water in them. Most work just fine.
