Can someone point me to the ABYC language on storing
propane onboard? I have a very well made air tight locker with a vent in the bottom that is plumbed to the outside of the
hull but is located below decks. I know everyone is paranoid about storing
propane below decks but I would like to see just what ABYC has to say about it. The locker on my
boat seems like a perfectly acceptable way to store the propane and I am comfortable using it in conjuction with all the other
safety gear including solenoid and fume detectors. Its location makes a short hose run to the
stove where a locker on
deck would require a long and convoluted hose run. I just want to make sure I can do this in compliance. The locker is currently in use to store CNG but I am in the process of converting.
