1" holding tank vent hose - thinking of using Trident 148

I currently have 5/8" hose on my two holding tank vents and I'm thinking of switching to 1" Trident 148. I've thought about Trident 101/102, but the 148 is less than a third of the price from Defender and that's my main motivator for the 148. That said, I have a couple of questions.
1 - Does anyone have any thoughts (positive or negative) regarding 148 for this use?

2 - Would there be any issue clamping the 1 inch 148 onto the 5/8" fittings?

Yes there would be...you'd never get the hose--ANY hose--to seal on the fitting. However, unless you increase the tank fitting (not hard to do, thanks to a li'l gadget called the Uniseal UNISEAL) to 1" and also replace the vent thru-hull with a 1" open thru-hull, increasing the vent line to a larger diameter would be a wasted effort.
