What does the serial number plate say?
A lot here will depend on which Model of Kanzaki transmission you have. My KM4A-2 trans uses SAE30HD oil, not ATF.

The important thing here is to RTM!!!

One guy had never even heard of a Kanzaki transmission! When I tried repeatedly to explain a cone clutch, I was greeted with silence. Not even the thought to perhaps refer to a manual??
So,...I am still out there, waiting for any signs of wisdom to come my way.

I do need some guidance here.

Thanks,

Where are you located? I'm a bit surprised you got so little info from local Yanmar dealers. the Kanzaki is the standard transmission that Yanmar supplies with their engines. Very common and very reliable.

Re: YANMAR KANZAKI TRANSMISSION

Not reading this from the Yanmar Manuals but a good rule of thumb is that cone clutch gearboxes use motor oil and wet, multi-plate clutches use ATF.

And to continue the rule of thumb, Yanmar wet single plate clutches use motor oil.

Maybe BERN will come back and see your post but he last visited CF in 2018 some 10 years after starting this thread.
