Trim sensor unit

how hard is it to change out the trim sensor? the unit itself is not in bad shape but the wires to it are.

My boat has the same problem and it seems to me a job best left to a mechanic.
It's just my two pennies worth

Me and my big mouth! My trim sensor is still not replaces as mechanics are just too expensive!
I've seen new sensors on ebay for around $150.
How did you go replacing yours?

Out drive trim and tilt switches, have a grommet and clamp to hold them tight to the flange.
Access thru the inside transom area, 1/4"universal sockets, Wobbles, tape to hold the bolt from falling out of the socket.
And patience, that's what you pay the mechanics for, patience and perseverance is expensive.

Thanks Boaryarddog I bought the boat without trim sensors and just thd wiring socket hanging in the transom but can't see were the sensors are suppose to fit.
Its Volvo Penta stern drives late 290 model.
I have the manual for it but also not clear.
