TOCK Rudder Packing

Does anybody know the specified size for the flax packing for the rudder post? I am trying to find out prior to hauling and taking the old packing out.

Re: TOCK Rudder Packing

Kind of hard for anybody to answer that when you don't tell us what make/model the boat is, much less the rudder post size.
Unless TOCK is a specific boat?

No way to tell man... Unless you give us a boat to help you research....

Barring that... measure your shaft and housing.... Buy 3-4 sizes that seem reasonable, and return the rest... Don't know your finances, but most likely would not have to take out a loan....

TOCK = Tartan Offshore Cruising Ketch, 42 (ish) feet.

Can't help you with packing size though.

Call Art Averill at Tartan Yachts. He's a fantastic resource for questions relating to the older Tartan models.

I guess we should all be grateful that the op's boat wasn't made by Catalina.
