Being an
engineer, I tend to overdo things, so I pulled some
oil from my SD 25 sail drive for analysis at the 500 hour mark. It shows high copper content, and the report suggests "bearings or seals". I assume it's probably from a clutch/copper washer that I see as a weak spot on the 50/60 models? Is the basic design the same on the 25?
Any ideas where to start? I'll pull the drive once
hurricane season fades and I can
haul out for a while. Thanks a bunch.
