Radice Shaft Seal

We have a Radice Shaft Seal (RTMA) on our Bénéteau 36cc.

Just curious to know how often other owners with a similar shaft seal replace theirs

i have a 36cc from 1998
we did a circumnavigation with that.

ours has a volvo seal.
it has not dripped a single drop.
but i have bought a new one for next voyage. after 19 years may the rubber be reduced.

The Radice I have says 4 years I think. But hopefully it will last much longer than that? I guess the worry is if it catastrophicly fails and its older than 4 years its going to be hard to argue with an insurance company over it... So id be curious as well what others experainces are.

Mine ran pretty warm to start with, until I ran water injection into it. Even though they say the 25mm one is Ok for an inch shaft, maybe this is why it ran warm.
