NYT article on biomimetic prop design.

Not sure if this stuff is real or hype, but could be useful for both propulsion as well as wind generators.

I'm a little skeptical when someone says they have built a better mousetrap but nobody wants to buy it. The reality is that in the manufacturing business, there is extreme competition and anyone who can create a better product for the same price or lowered operating costs, gets the business most all the time.

This is the reason we no longer see the major airlines using DC-3's for carrying passengers or Intel 80286 CPU's in our computers. Somebody built something better.
