I'm in the process of repowering my ketch Nanuk. Previously I've had a 48 hp Yanmar diesel with a saildrive. That engine is now sold and I'm considering the options I have.

1- To stick with the diesel engine and buy a new Yanmar either 55 or 75 hp
2- To go for an electric solution like the OZ or Asmo motors, the only problem being that they have no saildrive solutions and my hull is too flat for a straight shaft. Note that I'm not talking about a diesel-electric hybrid since they are just too expensive.

What do you say out there? Should I dare the jump?

I will go sailing both short and long distance.

Go with a Yanmar solution. No contest.

Isn't the OZ ecodrive just a diseal electric system by another name. Unless you are not going to have any generator which would require a few more cajones than I have.
