Can a Max Prop 3 blade classic pitch be adjusted while on Boat in water ?

The official answer is "no", however I've heard some divers will do this. I have not found one. Its a tricky operation because there are lots of parts. In my case I think it would be simpler to pull the whole shaft, adjust the prop ashore, and put it back.

Agree with JayH, not worth losing parts...

Some divers will do it. The diver who changes our zincs also keeps spare max-prop parts (the special screws and cotter pins, etc). He has re-pitched our 3 blade classic in the water without a problem. And, we are in cold PNW waters, and he does it while wearing gloves.

When looking for a diver for this, be sure and find someone you know has done it before (personal references, etc.). Don't just pick a diver who says "Sure, I can do it. Can't be that hard" ;-)

I can't imagine how a diver can install the very small (1/16") locking cotter pins in the cap screw heads. I find it difficult doing it on dry land ... leaving them out? I have a 16", 3-blade.

If you contact PYI they may be able to recommend a diver in your area. They are very helpful.
