Kiwi Prop

My Kiwi prop blades are sticking In reverse. In order to go ahead the transmission has to be banged In hard ahead to dislodge them. The prop was serviced recently
and new reverse rollers fitted.Any Suggestions Please.

Re: Kiwi Prop

Service or not, something is interfering with the blades returning. Off the top of my head, I'd bet on a nasty little sea creature like a barnacle that doesn't understand folding props. Other debris including fishing line could be down there as well. Sounds like get out the mask and fins and go play with it under the boat. Good luck with it.

Please treat your tranny with respect. They have a talent for spoiling your day when they get offended from being crashed about.

What was done as part of the "service" was it completely disassembled, cleaned and regreased?

Re: Kiwi Prop

Sounds like too much grease was pumped in and the seal at the root of the blades was displaced.

Don't ask me how I know this.
