The KBW20 is not that hard to take apart and rebuild
. The main four bearings should be (from my rebuild
log, please double check dimensions):
Input shaft: 2x SKF or similar 32007
Output shaft: 2x SKF or similar HR30208J
In my case, I had a screeching noise
from the tranny. It was a bad bearing on the input shaft, the closest one to the engine
. I did a crappy rebuild job to get me going (only changed the bad bearing, but cleaned & flushed the others), and once home, changed all the bearings, including the many needle rollers.
manual for the 4JH2-TE can be found online and includes directions for the transmission
. You may need a shim-set to get that axial shaft play right. A machine shop may cut them from shim stock. You also need bearing pullers and a 'special' tool to get the nut out of the shaft coupling.
If you don't feel comfortable, with the service
manual, and the parts
, any machine shop should be able to to the job.
