Hurth Transmission Oil

Is it normal for a Hurth HBW 150 V Drive transmission main seals to weep transmission fluid? this is my second transmission that leaks and the current one has new seals, I'm using ATF automatic tansmission fluid, can I switch to SAE 30# Thought being that the heavier weight oil will not work past the seals. It only weeps when running. Any help would be appreciated.

Some of the rebuilders I taked to recommended Redline Mt-90.Red Line Oil. I have also used there other products with satisfaction. A little hard to finde but will sell direct.
Also check you trans vent. The output shaft could have a grove in it where th seal rides. Fairly common on cars.

Two things to check.
Ensure the oil level is not over full. This can cause your symptom plus it can cause excess heat which leads to other failures. Check the air vent.
And finally, ensure you are using a good quality oil. I us a full synthetic oil. This can help in several area's. Heat reduction and maintaining seal softness. Be vary weary of any additives, I will not use any of them.
