Costs of Retrofitting

Hey guys,

Looking for some rough indicative costs and recommendations on the below.

I have a Bavaria 46 2005, moving her from Germany to the southern coast of the UK.

- Bowthruster
- Autopilot
- Bimini

Many thanks for your help in advance!

Thanks,
Lawrence

Bimini and autopilot shouldn't be too bad. Bowthruster? Ouch.

Re: Costs of Retrofitting

Lawrence, when you say canopy, do you mean a full cover or just a bimini?

If its the full cover and you need stainless steel then a ball park price will be £3000. If you want a recommendation then these people are highly recommended. Not cheap but quality made products aren't.

Boat Covers & Marine Upholstery | Tecsew Ltd

For the Autopliot, these folks are also highly recommended and supplied mine. Probably £4000 depending on your requirements.

Not sure on bow thrusters, you could ask these folk for a quote, but £3000 at a guess.

Endeavour Quay - The South Coast's most accessible Boatyard

In general I found living in Germany expensive compared to the UK, so wouldn't hesitate to hold off buying anything until you arrive in the UK.

Re: Costs of Retrofitting

From my experience in talking to others:

Bow thruster pro installed 8-10K USD
Below deck autopilot 4K USD
Biminis can be all over the place in price, depending on what you are looking for in quality and scope of work.
