Bad transmission - Help near Sarasota?

Was on my way to Texas from Florida and the forward drive clutch pack went out in my Hurth 100 transmission. Been stranded here for a couple weeks and cant get any help to remove it. Called some shops around Florida and they say they can fix it if I can get it to them. Just cant get anyone to help. Every mechanic I have been given a phone number for says “Sorry, busy for weeks to months.”

Anyone know someone near Sarasota/Bradonton or even St Pete/Tampa area know a mechanic willing to help? I dont know what to short of just flying home for the holiday to refresh, and come back and attempt it myself. I think I have mechanical ability, just never done it before and hate to break something and make matters go from bad to worse. Im n a marina and the boat is floating so I have that much going for me.

Rockinar, did you get help? Replacing a transmission is within your capability if you still can't find a mechanic. If you are simply swaping out, there aren't that many connections or adjustments to be made.
