1989 HC38T prop shaft removal

I have a 1989 HC38T with a Telstar keel and I need to remove the nine plus foot prop shaft where the skeg appears to be in a position to block the shaft coming out the stern side. Does anyone know the procedure to accomplish this task or would know a person that knows how it's done. If I somehow remove the cutless bearing then I would have a little more space perhaps to clear the skeg. Otherwise I would need to raise the engine and remove steel water tanks to go forward. The shaft is heavily galvanicly corroded near the prop on my project boat. Argh. Help please! Thank you so much........Bill
