Have you asked a certified Yanmar mechanic this question?

I've take the three day course for boat owners, it's a great environment. You get your own engine to work on. The guys who teach this are extremely knowledgeable.

I'd love to hear more about these three day courses and where they are offered. Any links would be appreciated.

Yanmar school is OK...but as with most companies...they spend a lot of time talking about the product.

The schools are pretty much for people currently working for a dealer. IIRC
