And Obama is the guy who says the Constitution is "flawed", and supports judges making laws from the bench, in direct violation of said document.

At least Cheney "did something" (if true as you allege) as opposed to Obama, who did absolutely nothing in his 4 years as a senator. Introduced no legislation to "correct" all of the "problems" he says we have, and had two years of Democrat control (actually the Dems have run Congress for years) in which to have needed support.

Change?....looks like we're getting Klinton administration #3.

Be careful of what you wish for, you just might get it.

Changes will "trickle down"?

Sounds like you should have voted for someone else!

Government is such a model of efficiency, no?

And people want to turn over the health care system to them...

Thanks for the reminder--Finally there is progress on the TWC front, as their website says my card is now ready for activation. Hopefully my PIN will not be considered weak, as I will take some viagra before my appointment.

This is progress is offset by the Customs User Decal website, where the same morons at the Department of Homeland Security closed a WORKING website on September 22, and replaced it with a NONWORKING one! Another boondoggle where we are forced to jump through another useless hoop at our cost, and they can't even keep their old website online until the new one works.

Still no luck - They only open the office on Thursdays now in spite of the fact that the office was supposed to be open through November. Although the office is poen on Thursdays, they don't accept appointments and it isn't always open. The only appointments they are accepting are for Jan. 1 when they of course are not open.

The note on the door gives a number for registering a complaint. They are happy to take a complaint although they don't seem to do anything with them.

continued delays

I went to the TWIC office today to find a line of about 3 to 4 hours - I didn't wait as there were many people who need their card to go back to work. I don't need mine until next summer - fortunately.

Hanschristian did you get your TWIC issue resolved? I've done the process a couple months ago and it was painless nor were there any issues with the other hundred people I was working with having issues. Maybe theyv'e gotten it straightened out.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does a TWIC card actually do?

TWIC Card

It gives the government another $135 of yours in their pocket.

Thank you Captain, for your cynical but probably 100% accurate reply.

There's some truth to what aptain's saying but, I think it was in response to 9/11. It's a transportation workers ID, anyone working at harbor, airports I suppose have to get the card. They do a background check so, in theory it might do some good.

Yes - I finally got the card. I waited until there was a day that they were open and there was a snow storm. Nobody else showed up that day so there was no wait. The local people in this office were alway nice to get along with.

The process was painless for my wife too. Certainly, not everyone went through what I had to go through.

Anyone working on the waterfront including anyone with a Coast Guard license is required to have a TWIC card including launch drivers. So really - it is about the $135 I believe.

Yea -- if those guys who flew into Portland, ME, then to Logan in Boston, then into the World Trade Center/Pentagon/a field in PA had only had TWIC cards, all those people would still be alive today.

I feel so much safer now.

Hummmmmmm!

At my work it only took my guys a week to get their TWIC cards.

Something surely must have changed.
