Re: The Horse before the Cart?

Thanks for that Ann. I see too many people chained to their houses. Home ownership is engraved on our brains and I think the idea of living on a boat drums up thoughts of laziness and irresponsibility but it is probably the exact opposite.

Re: The Horse before the Cart?

Thanks RamblinRod, this is good advice. There aren't too many things in life that we can say with certainty we won't replace, so I'll try not to get "too" hung up on purchasing the "perfect boat."

Re: The Horse before the Cart?

Cap EricT3 - This is good stuff! My open water SCUBA cert was in Grand Cayman. I went in and the newly weds were suppose to follow. Apparently one of them had a bad panic attack before getting in the water. I was standing on the bottom, looking around when I realized Iwas the only one in the water! - I nearly started laughing into the regulator. I think I am going to do a bit of everything (cheap boat, sail on others, classes) hopefully, all of this will get me up to speed in a couple of years. I sure hope so.

No matter where you go, you can be lazy when you feel like it. You're in charge.
