there are several very good, ACCREDITED, sailing schools in SE Asia
The RYA one in Langkawi is very well reviewed and been in business for a long time with professional instructors. It's seasonal and books
There is Java Yachting, operated year-round out of Krabi/ Phuket owned by John Coffin a master mariner and IYT examiner; it is excellent. they have a connection with China
and Chinese speaking staff. They also have boats to charter
and regularly participate in regattas. I have had dealings with John in the past and he is a fantastic guy and runs a super professionally outfit
There is another IYT school
a small one on the other side of Thailand.
As far as I know there isnt a school
in Singapore -
Thailand is perfect for competent crew or day skipper.
