Online Sailing Test

Please take this test without studying and post your scores. I found myself jarringly lacking in knowledge. I find it hard to "educate" myself about this stuff I just think the real world education sticks to your ribs a bit more.

I just studied for and passed the German sailing test, which is very heavy on theory and incredibly light on practice (I had to dock a small powerboat and perform a MOB maneuver and hold a compass heading) so the test wasn't too tough - if I'd have taken it prior to studying then I most likely would have failed it.

Obviously some of those questions come from a specific classroom. One I did not attend.

Another 36 - I missed 4 of the first 10, and 4 of the final 34. I'm going to wait awhile and re-take it when I have more time.

If I ever see a dredger, I'm turning around and heading back to the dock.

Yeah that one was a bruiser of a question. I only scored a 23. If you ever see me out there you should run and hide too. For what it is worth I took the test at three in the morning. I will try again when I get some coffee in me.
