Looking to learn to sail Feb 7 for a week Ft Lauderdale

My husband and I are trying to decide whether to take one of the week long sailing courses or just rent a boat with a captain for a week and learn from him.

Any thoughts? We are new to sailing but really want to learn (and get out of the New England Winter) the week of Feb 7th, 2015 when we are in the area for 8 days.
