I've sailed before, but I feel rather clueless and would like to get serious about learning
from the ground up how to become a safe and knowledgable skipper
The initial goal is to get to a stage where I can sail a 40ft boat
down the east coast
without it being a completely reckless undertaking.
It's okay if that takes me a few years
but it bothers me that the sailing courses around New York
City I could find don't get started until April. I would love to get on the water
before then, even though it's cold.
Does anyone have recommendations?
Someone looking for crew, perhaps?
A weekend crash course happening in, or reasonably close to New York
Someone with a boat
who is eager to get out on the water
and is looking for a partner in crime?
I'm no Croesus, but I'm open to covering expenses, or paying tuition.
