Combining ASA 104/114 Holiday & Non-learners

Hello, sailors!

I'm considering a week-long ASA 104/114 (Bareboat Chartering and Cruising Catamaran) sailing holiday. Some of the family are interested in having a sailing holiday but not in taking the course. Has anyone here, either as student or instructor, had a mixed group of learning sailors and holidaymakers aboard for a week long sailing course? Were the holidaymakers able to enjoy the cruise despite the instruction? Were the students able to effectively cover the course material?

Thanks very much for sharing your experience!

Re: Combining ASA 104/114 Holiday & Non-learners

My wife and I did 104 & 114 together a couple of years ago. While we didn't have any non-students along, there was time for others to have enjoyed the ride. We could have left non-students at the beach for a day, then returned to spend the evening together.

We did ours in the Spanich Virgin Islands with Sail Caribe after buying our Lagoon 400 from Atlas Yachts in Puerto del Ray Marina, Fajardo, Puerto Rico.

Feel free to PM me if you want more info.

Cheers,
Lucky Larry
