Bareboat school question

Hello all,

First post here -

I once found a website for a bareboat school in the Caribbean that allowed for family to stay on shore, with daily lessons for the participant, to return to shore each evening. Of course I never bookmarked it and can't remember the name.

Does anyone have any ideas of the name of the school or am I making this up?

Thanks!

Re: Bareboat school question

There are hundreds of sailing schools around the Caribbean and Florida. I have no doubt that you are remembering correctly, but I would have no idea what specific school you are talking about.

With a lot of the schools, you start out on a smaller boat to get the initial sailing skills, and do not sleep aboard overnight. With most of the schools, when you move to the larger boats, and start learning about boat systems, instead of just sailing, then you sleep aboard the boat.

I'm sure a quick web search will turn up dozens of schools that will fit your needs. Good luck.

Re: Bareboat school question

Hello: I have worked for a couple of Caribbean sailing schools. I recall a couple of similar instances so I'd just ask.

If you PM me I will give you the contact at the school I work for most often.
