What appears when you move the slider all the way to the left?

If it's an A/B switch, maybe it controls a TV antenna/dockside cable input?

Yes, A/B switch. Interesting, nowhere TV but that makes sense.

You can maybe test for what stops working when you flip the switch to one or the other choice.
