Trim tab dilemma manhattan 50

Sun seeker manhattan 50 motor cruiser
Trim tab not operational when i purchased boat (so i have no experience
With "correct " operation)

Hydraulic pump rebuilt using original solenoid assembly,
Have reinstalled - however pump only operates when "bow down" (e.g. extend RAM) is commanded. (Either port or starboard) and same from fly ridge or lower helm.
Solenoids all operate correct (e.g. Bow up /retract RAM its possible to hear
The solenoid operate,,, however pump is not running so no activity)

Have traced wiring colors and switch configuration - all switches wired the same
And in each case there is no power supplied to the pump when bow up is commanded. (Each of the four switches only supply power when bow down commanded)

The TT Rams are single ended . E.g. There is only one pipe to each RAM.

Q: would this be correctly? setup such that pump only operates for bow up/extend RAM, and for retract it uses water? Pressure? To force it to retract.

Note that i can operate up on one side and down on other at same time, and
Yes one RAM extends and the other retracts (because pump is powered from the
Extend side command) /... so yes the pump and solenoids are all working correctly .... its just that pump only is supplied power/operates when "bow up" commanded from any of the four switches (port/stbd / upper/lower helm)

Help plsss
