Re: Steve Jobs new boat, so big they aren't sure how big it actually is

Somehow it reminds me of a gigantic refrigerator.

That's what they used to say about the Mac, as I recall.

Those of us who bought into Apple below $100 per share might subscribe to a different aesthetic.

Regardless, to give Steve his due, it's prettier than any yacht I've ever designed.

I'm not a big fan of the outside but that's probably because the lines are so flat and boxy. I bet the inside is amazing. Has anyone see photos of the inside? If so, post a link!

It is a philip Starck design and about 60-70 mtrs in length. Minimalistic design was the motto of Steve Jobs.

Van Lent is about 5kms away from my present homeport.

This was a post mortem launch .....

Whatever the design, it's a pity he didn't live to see it to completion.

De Vries and Van Lent form together a partnership called Feadship.
They are located on the same Waterway approx 8 km separated.

De Vries Lentsch was a different company shipyard located in Amsterdam but they do not exist anymore.
The designer, Willem de Vries Lentsch, is still working as naval architect.

I'll bet it's fast . . . fast & fugly. Interior is probably amazing. I imagine the bridge looks something like this:

Notice the twin Satellite dish domes on top.

Nothing like putting your name in neon when you enter port to announce you have arrived.
