Red color in water when engine started

Until physically checked it's impossible to more than guess, a lot depends on the exhaust layout, but it's probably a minor issue but one worth checking.
How long had the boat stood idle, without the engine run?
If only a few days, it is definitely a point to beware, if a couple of weeks, less likely to be a problem.
