Hey guys and gals... i rode my SUP all over the lower New York bay and recorded the speed as 4.4 mph by paddling only. I suspect with the engine itll be fast! we will see. soon.

Just out of curiosity, what are you using to measure speed? I've always been curious how fast I'm going (or not going) whilst shortboarding...

Re: Powered Inflatable Paddle Board

Succesful test, with the trolling motor ran about 3 mph at speed 1 and 4.5 at speed 2, so about the same as paddling, the turning is not super responsive. it may be because i kept the fin on the bottom lol!

It was pretty easy to set up with the whole rig and accessories weighing about 50 lbs

Re: Powered Inflatable Paddle Board

Ran it in Jamaica Bay yesterday, at low tide the water is only about 1 foot deep except where they have dredged out the channels for boats to pass, so you wont see a boat unless its within that channel or one like this.. I normally leave the propeller at a depth of 8 inches or so but it can be moved upto about 4 or 5" which means you are able to motor until you basically hit dry land.
