I just got back from a
Bahamas cruise, and catching up on my reading. I found an ad for MJM Yachts in Jan/Feb Passagemaker, where they bragged about running their 50 footer from NY to
Annapolis thru the C& D Canal at an average speed of 35 knots!
I know there is no speed limit on the
canal, but there are a lot of No Wake zones in the canal and Northern Chesapeake, and some very narrow channels. How fast did they go in these areas to maintain the average?
This likely occurred last fall, on the way to the powerboat show in
Annapolis, which would explain why they didn't brag about a run to Bermuda!
Maybe they should include the name of the owner and
captain for those affected by the wake?
