I circumnavigated in a 24' rigid inflatable powered by biodiesel in the early 90's - a great voyage and would recommend it to anyone.

Nordhavn had a rally to Europe a few years back withh all size boats. I have the owner's DVD - the trip was not free of problems. A number of boats had stabilizer failures but all made it.

Stabilisers??

Better to just have a boat that doesn't need them, one less mechanical thing to break.

as far as I know there was one boat with a stabilizer problem, which was solved while cruising compare that to an ARC rally with hundreds of failures.
