Long Cruise in Planning Stage

Hi,

I am taking delivery of a 58' Maritimo in March 2016. We will cruise the Bahamas for a couple of weeks and then we are thinking about cruising from Key West to Cancun and then down to the Panama Canal and ending up in San Diego.
Are there any ports we should avoid? Any ports we should not miss?

Cruise numbers as follows:

12.7 knots 821 NM
18.0 knots 578 NM
22.7 knots 518 NM
27.1 knots 463 NM
30.7 knots 462 NM

We will probably do most of the cruise at around 22-25 knots. Thoughts, comments, observations?

Nice boat. Congrats!!! The big cruise ships run about 16 to 18 knots. Looks like your boats 'sweet spot' is about the same.

Guatemala has a reputation for high crime rates so I'd put that on my avoid list. There is a lot of good international cruising information here:
