Locating the Hull ID Number on a 43' Portsmouth Trawler

I have a 1973 Pearson Portsmouth 43' Trawler. I have been asked by NY State registration to provide a photo or etching of the hull ID number. I understand hull ID's on the transom became a requirement in 1972, so this boat may have actually been built in 1972 - even though it is a 1973 model. Does anyone know where Pearson might have located a hull ID number / information?

Thanks everyone. I found a number and was able to get the registration completed. As an FYI -- If a boat's manufacture date is older than 1973, the number does not have to comply with modern day HIN numbering.
