Re: Large older MY's, cheap to buy but....
If you're coming through the Chesapeake, especially if you're stopping in Annapolis, I could maybe do a drive-by, get you some photos underway.

Chris, I really like Annapolis and am hoping the timing works out so we will be there for a night. Keep your eye on this thread . I can't send pm's from my phone and no internet underway. When I get close I will let you know here and maybe you will be able to come visit with us. My mom and I would love to meet you.

Yep, when you get closer to knowing possible dates, we can do phone or e-mail. You may still have my e-mail address in some of your saved PMs, if you have any.

Chris,
Annapolis might be my next stop, but right now we are hung up in Hampton with weather. I'll keep you posted when I leave here.

Chris, I'm not sure where you are located, but I am pulling into the city docks now.

You made pretty good time. I'm only about 15 mins away, so if you're hanging around there today, I'll be able to drive up,

Well, I figured you had probably pulled out already... given your upcoming school issues... and sure enough, I went by the city dock at 0815, you weren't there
Perhaps you had been docked along the bulkhead ahead of that big Westport?
If you made it from Hampton to Annapolis in one long day, I'm guessing your next stop will be in the vicinity of Atlantic City... another long day...

Yup, we are shooting for cape may today and hoping we don't get stuck again. Seems everyday is long now. I imagine boating is much more fun when your not pressed for time. I hated leaving Annapolis. I'll be glad when the day comes when my time is all my own

Annapolis is one of our favorite stops. Of course, that list is now very long as each day adds another one. You'll find that out. So today one of your longer trips at around 115-120 nm. Are you then planning two or three more stops on the way?

Your right because I hated leaving St. Augustine as well. There's a lot to see out there.
Yes. I think that 3 stops after Jersey should put me in Boston.

Yaw! So do the marinas in the Puget Sound until the whole area/marine/dock goes out. If its an old marina as they increase the live a boards it may not have enough total amps to handle the total dock/marina. Everett had to rewire our dock as it did not have enough power as they added live a boards and larger boats. The first marina we moored did not have enough total amps for the marina and the our dock in Everett blew the dock main panel. So you do not know what you can or can not rely on.
If you get a water maker which you might not need, get at least 800+ gallons per day, 30 gallons per hours, so you only have to run when you run the gen set during the day. 8 to 10 hours is 240 to 300 gallons per day. The Eagle had a water make but they are a PITA and high mainenance, best to conserve water when needed.

Hey Phil, how many BTU's is your heating system? It's Webasto correct? Do you have 1 furnace for the entire boat or separate units for each space?
Someone priced priced me a system with 7 separate 50000 btu units? That does not sound right to me .

Could that be (7) 5000 btu units? Otherwise 350,000 btu is a bit much for the entire vessel, but 35,000 would be about right.

They way he put it sounds like they are each 50000 and the ridiculous price could reflect that also. I just e-mailed him for clarification. I'm sure I must have misunderstood.

He says that they are all different sizes. Here we go again with these price discrepancies. Some of these yards really want to make a killin'
