I/O Ski Boats in the Middle Keys

Does anyone have advise on using an I/O ski boat in the middle keys or the keys in general? Atlantic / Gulf side? Looking to bring a 21' Larson with a 3.5' draft.

Re: I/O Ski Boats in the Middle Keys

I've been running I/O's since the 70's skiing. Either side is good for skiing, Bay side is usually calmer.

3.5' draft???

I might be off on the draft...more that likely. No worries in / around Marathon area for a Ski Boat that size you think? Within reason of course.

Re: I/O Ski Boats in the Middle Keys

Our old I/O was 20' with a 250HP I believe it was.

Use to ski behind a friends 26' with twin 350HP inboards, what a ride that boat was.

Main thing is to stay away from the small islands and rocks as the water is shallow around them. Best to get a chart yo chech things out. Shouldn't be a problem.
